Analysis of Abnormal Engine Conditions and Fault Diagnosis Methods

Fuel supply / ignition system failure :

The reasons are: carburetor blockage, incorrect fuel mixture ratio (for two-stroke engines, gasoline and engine oil need to be mixed in proportion), or carbon deposits on the spark plug and weak ignition, which cause unstable idle speed and "misfire" at high speed, leading to vibration.

Solution:

Clean the carburetor: Disassemble the carburetor, use a cleaning agent to clean the nozzles and oil passages, and ensure the oil passage is unobstructed; strictly mix the fuel according to the ratio specified in the manual (usually 25:1 or 50:1).

Check the spark plugs: Remove the spark plugs. If the electrodes are severely carbonized, clean them; if the gap is too large, adjust it; if they are damaged, replace them.

Insufficient cylinder compression

The reason is that the piston rings are worn and the cylinder walls are scratched, which leads to a decrease in the compression ratio, resulting in insufficient engine power and unstable operation.

Solution: Such faults require disassembling the engine for inspection. When the wear is severe, replace the piston rings or cylinders. It is recommended to have a professional maintenance personnel handle it.
