How to safely use a lawn mower

Lawn mowers are quite dangerous, and if used improperly, they can easily cause personal injury or machine damage. Remind farmers to pay attention to the following issues when using lawn mowers, and follow the order of the following items and styles.

1、 Read the user manual thoroughly

Before use, it is necessary to read the user manual carefully, remember the safety precautions in the manual, master the installation, adjustment, operation, and maintenance methods, understand the applicable scope and technical parameters such as matching power and spindle speed.

2、 Installation and adjustment requirements

1. The lawn mower should be placed or fixed on a solid, flat foundation. The workplace should be spacious and equipped with fire prevention measures.

2. Strictly select the motor according to the matching power and speed specified in the manual. The power cord should be made of copper wire with an area of not less than 6 square millimeters. The current value carried by electrical appliances such as power switches, sockets, and plugs should not be lower than the rated current of the motor calibration (specific should follow the motor manual). The power switch should be installed within the operator's range of motion, generally not more than 3 meters away from the operator, and there should be no other obstacles between them.

3. Try to use the belt pulley that comes with the grass cutting machine as much as possible. Do not arbitrarily change the size of the pulley and increase the speed of the grass cutter.

4. Adjust the gap between each moving blade and the fixed blade, ensuring that it can pass through two sheets of printing paper and that there is no rubbing between the moving and fixed blades. After adjustment, tighten the fastening bolts of each moving blade and fixed blade (if necessary, increase the tightening degree by lengthening the wrench handle length). Afterwards, lock the casing tightly and confirm that it is secure and reliable.

5. Before installing the motor and hanging the belt, power on for a short period of time, check and confirm that the direction of rotation of the motor (driving wheel) is the same as the specified direction of rotation of the blade wheel (it is strictly prohibited for the grass cutter to run in reverse), then hang the belt and adjust it to a moderate tightness.

6. Install belt protection cover, grass feeding hopper and other accessories. Add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to components such as the gearbox and bearings that require lubrication.

3、 Preparation and inspection requirements before homework

Before each assignment, the following preparations and checks should be carried out in sequence. After confirming that all requirements are met, the grass cutting operation can be carried out.

① Inject an appropriate amount of lubricating oil into each oil injection hole. ② Check whether the gap between the moving and fixed blades meets the requirements. If any problems are found, they should be adjusted according to the regulations. ③ Check for cracks in the blade wheel, blades, frame, etc. If any problems are found, replace the components. ④ Check if the fasteners on the blade and other parts are tightened, and promptly address any issues found. ⑤ Check if the upper casing is locked securely and reliably, and promptly lock it if any problems are found. ⑥ Turn on the power and idle for 2-5 minutes, check if the rotation direction of the grass cutter is the same as the specified direction (do not open the upper casing at this time), observe if the whole machine runs smoothly, if there are any abnormal sounds or vibrations, and if any problems are found, stop the machine and eliminate them. ⑦ Check whether the gear lever adjustment is flexible, whether the gear shift is accurate and reliable, and if any problems are found, stop the machine and eliminate them. ⑧ Check if there are any hard objects such as metal or stones in the straw to be cut, and remove them if necessary.

4、 Homework requirements

1. During homework, it is strictly prohibited to remove the belt protective cover and grass feeding hopper, to make and replace grass feeding hoppers with safety protection dimensions less than 55 centimeters by oneself, and to open the upper casing.

2. People who have not mastered the safety rules of the grass cutting machine are not allowed to work alone.

3. It is strictly prohibited for minors, individuals who have spilled, are sick, or excessively fatigued to start working.

4. When feeding, hold the back half of the straw with both hands and feed the front half into the feeding mouth. Release your hands in a timely manner. It is strictly prohibited to reach into the feeding mouth.

5. Mastery of feeding quantity. The feeding amount should be uniform and not too much. When the speed of the grass cutter decreases, the sound becomes louder, or the discharge is uneven and the throwing distance significantly decreases, it indicates that the feeding amount is too much and should be reduced in a timely manner.

6. If any abnormalities occur during homework, the power should be immediately cut off, and it is strictly prohibited to check and troubleshoot while the machine is running.

7. When stopping the grass cutting operation, the grass cutting machine should continue to run in air for 2-3 minutes to blow out the materials inside the machine. After stopping the machine, adjust the gear lever to the "stop" position.

5、 Maintenance requirements

1. Grass cutters should be stored in the warehouse as much as possible, and when stored outdoors, attention should be paid to rain and moisture to prevent rusting.

2. When replacing the fastening bolts of the moving and fixed blades, high-strength bolts must be used instead of ordinary fasteners.

3. The cutting edge of the moving and fixed blades should be kept sharp and regularly polished.

4. The bearings should be cleaned and lubricated every six months.
