Methods for cleaning and maintaining gardening tools after use

Gardening tools are easy and convenient to use, bringing a lot of convenience to people's lives. Therefore, the maintenance of gardening tools is becoming increasingly important. When using them, pay attention to the methods. After use, clean the outside thoroughly, especially the parts prone to rust, and then dry them. Store them in a dry and well-ventilated place.

We all know that acidic and alkaline chemicals have a corrosive effect on iron. Therefore, keep gardening tools away from acidic and alkaline items. If they accidentally come into contact with acidic or alkaline substances, rinse the stains with water immediately and dry them with a cotton cloth. Long-term exposure to sunlight can cause the surface paint of gardening tools to discolor or peel off, and the inner metal to oxidize and deteriorate. Therefore, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time.

Gardening tools are prone to rust and coating peeling in a humid environment. Therefore, they should be placed in a dry place. When cleaning gardening tools, do not use boiling water or running water. Just wipe them clean with a damp cloth. If they rust due to improper storage, do not immediately sand them. For small areas, you can use a cotton cloth dipped in engine oil to wipe them clean. If the rust is extensive, it is best to have a professional technician handle it to extend the service life of the gardening tools.
