Power sprayer (pesticide sprayer) usage and application
I. Main purposes
For crop protection, it can be used to kill pests, prevent diseases, remove weeds, and apply foliar fertilizers to large field crops such as rice, corn, wheat, and vegetables.
For fruit trees and gardens, it can be used to treat diseases and pests in orchards, seedlings, green belts, and large trees. The spray is uniform and has a long range.
For home and garden, it can be used to prevent pests and diseases, eliminate bacteria and fungi, and protect flowers, grass, and green plants in villas. It can also be used for disinfection and sterilization in villages, livestock farms, pig and cattle sheds, warehouses, and public places.
For other purposes, it can be used to spray water on tall trees, apply foliar fertilizers, and spray pesticides for tree flowering and fruiting protection.
II. Common types
Backpack power sprayer: Two-stroke gasoline engine, with high pressure, long range, and good atomization. Suitable for both orchards and farmlands.
Electric backpack sprayer: Battery-powered, with low noise and no exhaust gas. Suitable for home use, small plots, and disinfection.
High power, suitable for large-scale farmlands and orchards with long-distance high-pressure spraying.
III. Correct usage methods
1. Pre-operation preparations
Personal protection must include wearing masks, goggles, rubber gloves, long-sleeved clothes, and rubber shoes to avoid skin contact with pesticides and inhalation of pesticide fumes.
Check the pipeline for no damage, no leakage at the joints, and a clear nozzle; check the gasoline engine for oil, fuel, and the oil circuit.
Strictly follow the pesticide instructions for the ratio of liquid to water, adding water first and then adding the pesticide, and stirring evenly; never increase the pesticide dosage arbitrarily.
2. Starting operation
Add the pesticide solution, close the lid of the pesticide tank, and level the machine.
Gasoline model: Turn on the power supply, pull the air intake valve, press the oil bubble, and pull the start rope to start. Warm up at idle speed.
Hold the spray gun and gently press the switch. First, do a low-pressure test spray to check the atomization and pressure; ensure they are normal.
3. Spray operation techniques
The nozzle should be at a 45° downward angle, 30–50cm away from the crops, and move at a constant speed, avoiding over-spraying and missed spraying.
For fruit trees, spray from bottom to top and from the inside to the outside. The leaves on both sides should be sprayed with pesticide.
Work with the wind, stand in the upwind position to avoid the pesticide fog blowing towards oneself.
Avoid spraying at high temperatures during noon; choose early morning or evening for spraying to prevent pesticide damage and heatstroke.
4. Stopping and cleaning
Stop spraying, idle for a moment before turning off the engine.
Do not pour the remaining pesticide on the ground or randomly pour it. Properly dispose of it.
Rinse the pesticide tank, pipeline, and nozzle with clean water to prevent pesticide residue from blocking or corroding the machine.
Dry the machine body and store it in a cool and ventilated place.
IV. Safety precautions
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during operation.
Seniors, children, pregnant women, and those who have consumed alcohol are prohibited from operating.
Keep pesticides away from water sources, fish ponds, and bee farms to avoid contamination and poisoning.
If pesticide liquid splashes onto the skin or eyes, immediately rinse with plenty of water. Seek medical attention promptly if severe.
Do not spray high-pressure pesticide fog directly at people, livestock, or young plants.
V. Daily maintenance
Rinse the entire machine with clean water after each use, and disassemble and clean the nozzle filter.
Gasoline model: Regularly clean the air filter and spark plug, and follow the two-stroke standard for oil ratio.
When storing for a long time, empty the pesticide and fuel, dry the pipeline, and place it in a dry and cool place.
