I. Protective gear (must be done first)

Wear tight work clothes, avoid loose clothes and loose sleeves to prevent the drill bit from getting tangled.

Wear protective glasses / face mask, anti-slip labor protection gloves, anti-slip labor protection shoes.

Tie up long hair and do not wear scarves or necklaces.

Do not operate when drunk, tired, or when the elderly or children are involved.

II. Pre-use inspection

1. Fuel ratio (applicable to two-stroke ground drills)

Gasoline: Two-stroke specific engine oil

Regular ratio: 25:1; before the new machine is in the process of breaking in, use 20:1 to protect the machine

Only use 92-grade unleaded gasoline, do not mix with waste oil or expired oil.

2. Whole machine inspection

Drill bit: Blade sharp, without cracks, screws tightened, deformed or bent ones cannot be used.

Reducer box, fixing screws, frame without loosening.

Throttle switch, ignition switch flexible and rebound normal.

Check the working ground: Are there any water pipes, wires, gas pipelines underground? Confirm first before drilling; Clear stones, tree roots, weeds.

III. Startup steps (standard cold machine process)

Place the ground drill flat on the ground, with the drill bit suspended and not touching the ground.

Turn on the power switch, close the air intake valve (cold machine).

Press the oil pump a few times, pull the start handle, the engine ignites and starts.

After starting, slowly open the air intake valve, preheat at idle for 1-2 minutes.

In idle state, the drill bit does not rotate on its own is normal; slight rotation can be adjusted to a lower idle speed.

Hot machine startup: Do not close the air intake valve, simply pull the rope to start.

IV. Correct operation posture when drilling underground

The safest way is to have two people cooperate: one person stabilizes the machine and operates, and one person assists and holds the machine steady (newbies are not recommended to try to hold it alone).

Hold the left and right handles tightly, stand straight, spread your feet apart to stand firm, and lower your center of gravity.

Align the drill bit with the center point of the drilling, drill vertically downward, do not twist or tilt.

Give a gentle throttle, rely on the weight of the machine to slowly press down, do not exert force or forcefully twist the machine body.

When encountering obstacles such as stones or hard soil with great resistance: Immediately release the throttle to idle, slightly lift the drill bit to avoid it, then slowly drill downward, do not forcefully drill.

After reaching the predetermined depth: Keep the throttle at a low speed, slowly pull out the drill bit and remove the soil from the hole.

V. Different ground operation techniques

Ordinary soil: Uniformly and vertically press down, slow advance and slow withdrawal, do not shake left and right.

Sandy soil or wet soil: Do not drill too deep at one time, repeatedly lift the drill bit to remove the mud, prevent getting stuck.

Land with many rocks: Reduce the pressure when drilling, immediately lift the drill when hitting a rock, change position and re-drill to avoid breaking the drill bit or bending the shaft.

VI. Shutdown operation

Fully remove the drill bit from the ground, away from the hole.

Reduce the throttle to idle for half a minute to cool down.

Turn off the ignition switch to shut off the engine.

Put the machine away, clean the drill bit of mud, weeds.

VII. Safety prohibitions (strictly prohibited)

❌ Prohibit forced operation in high places, on slopes, or in unstable places when standing.

❌ Prohibit bending the drill bit or twisting the machine in any direction, which may cause sprains or break the drill bit.

❌ Prohibit approaching the crowd or touching the blade when the drill bit is still rotating.

❌ Prohibit working on rainy days or on damp ground to prevent electric shock and slipping.

❌ Prohibit high-speed idling or prolonged throttle application, which may damage the engine.

❌ Prohibit forcibly pulling or dragging when the drill bit is still rotating, first turn off the engine, use tools to slowly loosen and remove it.

VIII. Maintenance after use

Clean the drill bit and the machine of mud and weeds.

Check if the blade of the drill bit and the fixing screws are loose or worn.

If not in use for a long time, empty the fuel tank, store it in a dry and ventilated place.
