Usage method of the power pump
I. Pre-use inspection and preparation
Positioning
Place the pump in the correct position. Ensure it is level and stable, with the body slightly tilted towards the water inlet side to avoid air blockage; keep it away from muddy and waterlogged areas.
Pipe installation
Inlet pipe: Ensure there is no leakage or damage throughout the entire pipe, and the interface is sealed with tape / sealing ring; at the end of the inlet pipe, a bottom valve (check valve) + filter screen must be installed to prevent debris and sand from entering.
Outlet pipe: The pipe should be straight, with few bends and sharp turns, and the pipe opening should not be submerged in water.
Adding priming water (critical! Self-priming pumps excluded)
Open the water filling port, fill the pump body with clean water, and remove all air. Close the water filling cover. Do not start the pump without water, as it may damage the sealing parts.
Power part inspection
Electric pump: Check the wires and plugs for damage, ensure reliable grounding, and match the voltage.
Gasoline engine / diesel engine pump: Check the engine oil, fuel, and air filter. The accelerator return position should be normal.
II. Startup and operation
Start up
Electric pump: Plug in and close the switch, then start slowly;
Fuel pump: Close the air vent (for a cold machine), pull the starter / ignite, start and gradually open the air vent to the rated speed.
Normal operation observation
The water flows smoothly and the pressure is stable, without violent shaking or abnormal noise.
The inlet pipe must not suck in air. If the water supply is intermittent, immediately stop the machine to replenish water and check for air leaks.
Do not operate the pump under overload for a long time at high pressure (blocking the water outlet), as it may damage the pump body, motor / engine.
Running time
For new machines, it is recommended to operate intermittently and do not run continuously at full load for more than 4 hours; in high-temperature environments, appropriate shutdown for cooling is necessary.
III. Normal shutdown procedures
First, close the water outlet valve (or lift the outlet pipe to release pressure).
Then, cut off the power supply: for the electric pump, cut off the power first; for the fuel pump, first reduce the fuel throttle and then turn off the engine.
Winter / long-term non-use: Drain all water from the pump body and pipeline to prevent cracking due to freezing.
IV. Daily maintenance and care
After each use
Clean the inlet filter screen, water plants, mud, and debris on the bottom valve; wipe the body.
Regular inspection
Pipes, sealing rings: Replace in time if they are aging, leaking, or leaking air.
Bearings / shaft seals: Repair in time if there is water leakage, abnormal noise.
Fuel-powered models: Replace the engine oil on time, clean the air filter, and check the spark plugs.
Storage
Clean the water and stains, place it in a dry and ventilated place; for long-term storage, start the machine for a short period once a month.
V. Safety Prohibitions (Must Read)
Electric pumps must not be operated with wet hands. Stop using during thunderstorms to prevent electric shock.
Do not pump sewage, mud, gravel, or long fibers. They are prone to jam the pump and wear the impeller.
When the pump is running, keep your hands and clothes away from the rotating shaft, belt, and coupling.
Do not operate beyond the head height or distance. Operating beyond the rated parameters will result in no water output and equipment damage.
If there is abnormal noise, smoke, or severe vibration, stop the machine and cut off the power immediately. After the fault is resolved, use it again.
Additional tips
Unable to draw water: Check if the water intake is full, if there is air leakage in the inlet pipe, if the bottom valve is leaking, or if the filter screen is clogged.
Reduced water volume: Clean the filter screen, check for pipe bends, and check if the speed is insufficient.
