The correct usage method of the EARTH AUGER

1. Safety Protection

Wear: Long pants, anti-slip steel-toe boots, protective gloves, goggles, ear protectors; keep long hair tied up, do not wear loose clothing.

Environment: Clear surface stones and debris; confirm there are no cables, water pipes, tree roots or other obstacles underground; no one is allowed to stand within 3 meters of the operation area.

2. Machine Inspection

Assembly: Secure the drill bit, use both positioning pins and safety pins for double fixation.

Fuel: For two-stroke engines, use gasoline: engine oil = 25:1 mixed oil (such as 1L gasoline mixed with 40mL two-stroke engine oil), use up on the same day, do not use deteriorated oil; fill the fuel tank to 80%, do not overflow.

Oil: Check the gearbox grease, spark plugs, air filter, and bolt tightness.

New machine: Low-speed running for 3 hours (about 5 buckets of oil), avoid full load.

II. Startup Steps (Cold Machine)

Place the machine flat, turn off the ignition switch, open the fuel valve.

Press the oil bubble until there is oil flowing back into the return pipe, close the air valve fully.

Gently pull the start rope to create resistance, then quickly and smoothly pull; start the machine with the air valve half-open, idle the engine for 2-3 minutes at low speed.

Hot machine startup: Open the air valve fully, directly pull the rope to start.

III. Pit Digging Operation

Positioning: Align the drill bit with the marking point and keep it vertical.

Inserting into the ground: Hold the handle tightly with both hands, slowly press down and rotate at low speed; rely on self-weight and gentle pressure for advancement, strictly prohibit heavy pressing and shaking.

Lifting the drill: After reaching the predetermined depth, idle the engine slowly to lift the drill bit, completely off the ground before releasing the fuel valve and stopping the machine.

Rhythm: Take a 10-minute break every 30 minutes to avoid overheating; do not stop suddenly at high speed.

IV. Shutdown and Completion

Allow the machine to idle for 1 minute, then turn off the ignition switch, close the fuel valve.

Cleaning: Remove dirt from the drill bit, spiral blade, air filter, and cooling fins.

Maintenance: Add gearbox grease every 20 hours; clean spark plugs / muffler carbon deposits, replace oil filter every 50 hours; conduct comprehensive maintenance every 100 hours.

Storage: Drain fuel if not in use for a long time, start the machine to burn the residual oil in the purification device; place vertically in a dry and ventilated area, remove the spark plug lead.

V. Safety Prohibitions

❌ Do not wear sandals / barefoot, do not wear loose clothing; do not fuel indoors or near open flames.

❌ Do not suddenly stop the machine during high-speed operation; do not continue working when there is abnormal vibration or contact with foreign objects.

❌ Do not modify the drill bit privately or use it beyond specifications; do not operate on rubble piles or slippery slopes.

❌ Do not keep hands or feet near the rotating drill bit; cleaning / maintenance must stop the machine.
