The reasons for the large vibration of the brush cutter machinery
Vibration of brush cutter is too severe. Causes and troubleshooting (general, fuel side, cutter / transmission, frame accessories, from easy to difficult)
I. Blade / Cutter Components (Most common, prioritize inspection)
Blade imbalance, deformation, chipped edge
Knocked or hit by hard objects causing blade bending, notch, uneven weight on both sides, and intense vibration due to high-speed rotation.
Treatment: Correct the blade, replace severely deformed ones directly; ensure equal weight for paired blades.
Blade entangled with grass, mud, or attached debris
Grass, dirt, vines adhering to the cutter / blade, causing center of gravity shift.
Treatment: Stop the machine, cut off power / extinguish the engine, thoroughly clean the cutter and blade.
Loose / missing fixing screws for the blade
Shaking of the blade during operation, accompanied by abnormal noise + strong vibration.
Treatment: Stop the machine, tighten the fixing bolts, follow standard torque to tighten, and complete the installation of spacers.
II. Transmission and Connecting Components
Transmission shaft, soft shaft wear / looseness (side-mounted / backpack brush cutter)
Internal steel wire of the soft shaft broken, excessive gap, loose joints at both ends, unstable power transmission causing overall machine vibration.
Treatment: Check the joints and tighten them, replace the soft shaft if damaged.
Gearbox failure
Gear wear, bearing damage, lack of lubrication, abnormal meshing gap, running jitter, loud noise.
Treatment: Add / replace gearbox grease, replace the entire assembly if bearings or gears are damaged.
Joint, connection rubber sleeve aging and cracking
Buffer rubber sleeve between the body and the working head damaged, ineffective shock absorption, vibration directly transmitted to the entire machine.
Treatment: Replace the shock absorption rubber sleeve.
III. Engine / Motor Body Vibration (Fuel / Lithium Battery Separation)
Fuel brush cutter
Engine foot shock-absorbing rubber pads aged, damaged, or fallen off
Rubber shock-absorbing blocks of the machine base cracked, hardened, or fallen off, causing vibration to be directly transmitted to the handle.
Treatment: Replace all shock-absorbing rubber pads.
Engine fixing screws loose
The machine body shakes during operation.
Treatment: Tighten the engine fixing screws one by one.
Spark plug malfunction, unstable idle speed of single-cylinder engine
No spark, unstable idle speed, regular shaking of the entire machine; clogged air filter, abnormal fuel supply from the carburetor can also aggravate vibration.
Treatment: Clean / replace the spark plug, adjust the idle speed of the carburetor.
Flywheel, clutch imbalance / clutch block wear
Uneven wear of clutch蹄blocks, inconsistent spring elasticity, obvious vibration during high-speed operation.
Treatment: Disassemble the clutch, replace the worn蹄blocks and springs.
Lithium battery / electric brush cutter
Motor bearing wear, rotor eccentricity
Loose internal bearings of the motor, deformed rotor, resonance during operation.
Treatment: Replace the motor bearings, repair or replace if the motor is damaged.
Motor fixing loose
Motor displacement, loose screws, shaking during operation.
Treatment: Tighten the motor fixing parts.
IV. Frame, Handle and Appearance Accessories
Screw loose on the handle, handle connection gap large, magnifying the vibration sensation.
Treatment: Tighten all fixing screws for the handle and the outer shell.
Outer shell, guard plate loose / deformed
Guard cover, protective plate screws loose or deformed, vibration when hitting during operation.
Treatment: Tighten the screws, correct or replace the deformed guard plate.
Wheels deformed, wheel shaft loose (push-type brush cutter)
Rollers not round, large gap between the wheel shaft, double vibration during walking + operation.
Treatment: Tighten the wheel shaft, replace the deformed rollers.
V. Improper Use and Installation
Blade installation misaligned, missing gaskets
Less gaskets installed, blade tilted, eccentric rotation.
Treatment: Reinstall the blade, gaskets, and flanges in the original factory sequence.
Uneven ground, excessive operation load
Many stones on the grass, thick grass, continuous impact of the blade, sudden increase in load, vibration intensifies.
Treatment: Clear the site, trim thick grass in stages, avoid hard cutting.
Quick troubleshooting steps (self-check in order)
Turn off the engine, clear the blade entanglement with grass and dirt, check if the blade is deformed, if the screws are loose. Check the shock absorbers of the machine feet, handrails, guards, and wheel fasteners.
Backpack / Side-hanging model: Check the lubrication of the flexible shaft, gearbox, and joints.
Fuel engine: Check the idle speed, spark plugs, and clutch; Motor model: Listen for abnormal sounds from the motor, and check the bearings.
If there is still vibration even when everything is normal, disassemble and check the balance and wear of the internal rotating parts.
