Chainsaw Safety and Usage Guidelines
1. Before Starting
- Wear slip-resistant gloves, safety goggles, cut-resistant pants, and work boots. Tie back long hair and avoid loose clothing.
- Check chain tension, guide bar for deformation, bolt tightness, and brake responsiveness.
- Mix two-stroke engine oil with gasoline in a precise 50:1 ratio; never use pure gasoline.
- Clear the work area of debris, keep away from children, elderly, power lines, and hard objects.
2. Starting Procedure
- Close the choke for cold engines; open it for warm engines. Pull the starter rope to start.
- After starting, let the engine idle and warm up for one minute—never run at high speed in place.
- Hold the saw firmly with both hands and stabilize the handle with your foot; never operate with one hand.
3. Felling and Cutting
- Remove dead branches above first to prevent falling wood from causing injury.
- Never force the chain against hard objects to avoid kickback.
- When working downhill, stand sideways—never directly in front of where the tree will fall.
- For large trees, make an initial notch to control the felling direction.
- If the engine stalls during operation, stop the engine before moving the saw—never drag the chainsaw.
4. Safety Prohibitions
- Do not use under the influence of alcohol, when fatigued, or while ill.
- Avoid using in rain, strong winds, damp conditions, or at heights whenever possible.
- Never cut toward people, animals, or buildings.
- Prohibit modifying speed limits or altering engine performance without authorization.
5. Maintenance After Use
- Let the engine cool down before refueling and cleaning sawdust.
- Clean chain and guide bar oil holes to ensure proper lubrication.
- For long-term storage, drain fuel, dry the chain thoroughly, and apply oil to prevent rust.
- Regularly sharpen chain teeth—never force use of dull teeth.
6. Emergency Procedures
- In case of kickback or jamming, immediately release the throttle and squeeze the brake to stop the engine—never pull or yank forcefully.
