Maintenance precautions for the chainsaw that has not been used for a long time

1. Cool down the machine and clean the entire unit.

   a. Cool down completely before maintenance to prevent burns and fires.

   b. Clean the body, cylinder heat sink, chain wheel cover, and chain brake area of wood chips, dirt, and oil stains.

   c. Clean the air filter: wash and squeeze dry the foam filter; blow dust off the paper filter, and replace it if it is too dirty.

2. Fuel system (most critical)

   a. If the machine has not been used for more than 1 month, empty the fuel tank and pour out all the gasoline mixture. Run at idle speed until it automatically stops, and burn off the residual oil in the carburetor.

   b. Failure consequences: gasoline deteriorates and forms gum, blocking the carburetor and oil passage. It will be difficult to start next time or even scrap.

3. Chain and guide plate maintenance

   a. Remove the chain and guide plate, clean the wood chips and oil sludge in the guide plate slot.

   b. Clean the chain and dry it. Apply engine oil or anti-rust oil all over to prevent rust.

   c. Clear the oil holes and oil channels of the guide plate, apply oil for rust prevention.

   d. Loosen the chain and do not keep it tight for storage to prevent stretching and deformation.

4. Internal engine rust prevention

   a. Remove the spark plugs and clean the carbon deposits.

   b. Add 5-8ml of two-stroke engine oil to the cylinder.

   c. Pull the starter lightly 3-4 times to allow the engine oil to lubricate the cylinder wall and piston.

   d. Put the spark plugs back.

5. Lubrication and detailed inspection

   a. Apply engine oil for rust prevention on the chain wheel and clutch drum.

   b. Add a small amount of oil to the pull cord and movable joints.

   c. Check for any aging or cracking of the oil pipes and sealing rings.

   d. Turn off the ignition switch, reset the throttle valve.

6. Storage requirements

   a. Store it in a dry, ventilated, and cool indoor area, avoiding direct sunlight, rain, and damp basements.

   b. Raise the machine off the ground to prevent moisture from seeping onto the ground and causing rust.

   c. Put on a dust cover to prevent dust and moisture.

   d. Place the chain with the blade facing outward or put on a blade guard to prevent injury, as well as to prevent bump against and tooth breakage.

7. Long-term parking follow-up maintenance

Check once every 1-2 months for rust, oil leakage, and rat damage. When using again after parking for more than half a year: replace the mixed oil, check the spark plugs, air filter, and chain tension, and then start the machine.
