Precautions for Using Fogging Machines
Comprehensive and Practical Precautions for Using Fogging Machines
I. Personal Safety Precautions
1. When operating, wear a gas mask, goggles, rubber gloves, and long-sleeved protective clothing. Do not operate with bare hands or exposed skin.
2. Do not work against the wind. Stand in the upwind position and avoid directing the fog towards your face, mouth, and nose.
3. Do not smoke, drink water, or eat during operation. Wash your hands, face, and change your clothes immediately after operation.
4. Elderly people, children, pregnant women, and those under the influence of alcohol are strictly prohibited from operating the machine.
5. If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or have a pungent smell during operation, stop the machine immediately and evacuate to a well-ventilated area. Seek medical attention if the situation is severe.
II. Precautions for Refueling and Fire Safety
1. Only use 92-octane pure gasoline. Do not use counterfeit or mixed oil with engine oil.
2. Refuel only after the machine has cooled down. Do not refuel when the machine is hot or running to prevent fire.
3. Refuel away from open flames, cigarette butts, and fire sources. Do not fill the fuel tank too full to avoid overflow.
4. The exhaust pipe of the machine becomes extremely hot during operation. Do not touch it with your hands and keep it away from dry grass, plastic, and clothing to prevent burns and fires.
III. Precautions for Mixing and Using Pesticide Solution
1. Dilute the pesticide strictly according to the instructions. Do not increase the dosage arbitrarily to avoid pesticide damage and poisoning.
2. Dissolve and stir the pesticide solution in an external bucket first, then filter it before pouring it into the pesticide tank to prevent clogging of the nozzle.
3. Do not mix unknown pesticides. Do not mix strong acids, strong bases, or incompatible pesticides.
4. Do not use the fogging machine to spray highly toxic, extremely toxic, or restricted pesticides.
IV. Precautions for Starting and Operating the Machine
1. When starting a cold machine, wait for it to warm up and run smoothly before opening the pesticide valve to spray. Do not open the pesticide valve at full capacity immediately after starting.
2. Do not idle the machine for a long time, as it may damage the carburetor and exhaust pipe.
3. Do not spray towards people, livestock, poultry, fish ponds, or beehives.
4. When working in greenhouses, ventilate first and leave an entrance and exit. Do not work in a closed environment for a long time to prevent poisoning.
5. Do not operate the machine in a horizontal or upside-down position to prevent the pesticide solution from flowing back into the engine and causing damage.
V. Precautions for Weather and Environment
1. Do not operate in winds above level 3, during rain, fog, or at noon when the temperature is high.
2. In summer, avoid the high-temperature period from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and choose early morning or evening for operation.
3. During the flowering period of fruit trees and vegetables, use a low concentration and light spray to avoid damaging flowers and bees.
VI. Precautions for Stopping and Maintenance
1. Shutdown sequence: First, close the pesticide valve → spray clean water for 1-2 minutes → then turn off the engine to prevent pesticide residue from corroding the pipelines.
2. After each use, clean the pesticide tank, pipelines, and nozzle filters to remove any remaining pesticide.
3. For long-term storage, drain the gasoline and pesticide solution, clean and dry the machine, and store it in a dry and cool place to avoid exposure to sunlight and rain.
4. If the machine malfunctions, emits smoke, makes abnormal sounds, or backfires, immediately close the pesticide valve and turn off the engine. Do not force it to continue operating.
VII. Precautions for Machine Maintenance
1. Do not block or enlarge the nozzle holes at will to avoid poor atomization and engine damage.
2. Do not modify the oil or electrical circuits privately, as it may cause fires or engine explosions.
3. Regularly check the spark plugs, filters, and seals. Replace them if they are worn or damaged.
